Yesterday..
Harvest Christian Fellowship was founded in 2000 by pastor Brad Huckabee. The early days of Harvest consisted of a lot of hard work and constant prayer. By 2001, Harvest purchased it’s current building at 211 N. Main. Since that time, Harvest has continued to bloom and grow. In 2009 pastor Brad Huckabee sensed a change of direction for his life and sought out a pastor to shepherd the church into the next season. In 2010, pastor Sonny Smart followed a call of the Lord to come and pastor the church. From 2010 to present the church has enjoyed tremendous growth. In 2013 Brad’s son, Jason Huckabee joined the team as an associate pastor.
Today...
Harvest has always been a strong, relational, family-oriented church and always will be. But, in 2020 the Lord has begun to expand the vision of Harvest to Seymour and beyond, during a very difficult COVID season. We expanded our ministry to our local community by partnering with the Matthew 25 Ministry of Seymour to distribute food to families in need. Also in 2020, we became a part of the Disciple Making Movement that is taking the world by storm. Through the Lord’s leading He has opened doors for us to minister in other communities, regions, states, and nations. We currently have Disciple Makers in Seymour, TX, Lubbock, TX, La Pine, OR, and Lancaster, PA and international missionary partnerships in Botswana, Africa and Greece.
Tomorrow...
In the future we look to continue to make disciples, proclaim the gospel, and see lives transformed by the power of the gospel. We will empower every believer to become a Disciple Maker. We desire our fellowship to become God’s ‘house of prayer’. We look to continue to grow in our overall care of our community through launching new ministries to help minister the needs of those here locally. We desire to equip and train Disciple Makers in our community and any community, in which the Lord opens a door for us. We desire to see disciples made, churches established, and thereby continuing Jesus’ global gospel mission. We look to continue to build our partnerships locally, nationally, and internationally. And we shall continue to do so until we all see Revelation 11:15 come to pass. 15 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!”
